Today is a sea day. Not an ordinary sea day. It's a scenic cruising sea day which means "get your camera ready" because you're gonna see some cool stuff at some point. Today our scene was Amalia Glacier located in Bernardo O'Higgins National Park on the edge of the Sarmiento Channel. Ok, perhaps it's easier to look at a map.

Our route since Buenos Aires. Amalia Glacier is #6. |
For the next hour we listen to the speaker tell us stories about his time as a private jet pilot. He captivates us with his stories about piloting wealthy businessmen and politicians around the world in private jets. It was informative and entertaining.
The rest of the day is spent chillin' and waiting for the Captain's announcement on when we can expect to see the glacier. Around 4 we head upstairs to the outdoor Lido deck and watch as the Glacier comes into site. It's pretty amazing (and cold). For the next hour we walk around the deck as the Captain slowly spins the ship so all passengers can get a glimpse of this natural beauty. Unfortunately the clouds did not lift entirely for us to see the top of the glacier. But no matters, it was spectacular anyway.
What a great way to spend the day.

The clouds lift a bit, but the sun never breaks through. Still breathtaking! |
